2019 NYC Stroke Systems of Care

The Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (NYC REMAC) has partnered with the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and the American Heart Association (AHA) to develop a new stroke systems of care for the New York City area. This new stroke systems of care recognizes the severity of Large Vessel Occlusion (LVO) types of strokes and the benefits patients suffering from this type of stroke may experience by being transported directly to a hospital capable of conducting a surgical thrombectomy procedure to remove the occlusion. The videos below provide an introduction to this new standard of care.
