New information will be posted to this page as it becomes available.

Certification & Credentialing

REMAC Advisory 2020-06 – Extension of REMAC Credentialing 

The NYC REMAC has granted a 1 year extension to all REMAC paramedics within NYC. Please refer to the attached REMAC advisory for details. Paramedics who have expired prior to January 1st, 2020 may request emergency reinstatement by emailing [email protected] and including a letter from a NYC Ambulance Agency Medical Director verifying employment and MD approval and oversight.

Extension of NYS EMT Certification

The NYS Department of Health Bureau of EMS has released to interim guidance below on provider credentialing. This guidance is subject to change at the discretion of the bureau.

The NYS Department of Health Bureau of EMS has extended all NYS certified EMTs, Paramedics and CFRs for a period of one year. This extension is applicable to providers with expirations of September 2019 and later (i.e. If you expired Sept 2019, you are now valid thru 9/30/2020. If you expire July 2020, you are now valid thru July 2021).

Providers whose credentials expired between Jan 1, 2019 – August 31, 2019 will be reactivated with a NEW NYS expiration of 12/31/2020.

NYS DOH BEMS is no longer accepting applications for certification reinstatement.

Need New York State certified EMTs to assist with covering hotels for COVID recovery:

  • Start as soon as Monday, 4/20
  • Locations: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island
  • Need – 12 hour shifts – 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am, cover as many shifts as you can
  • DOH will provide all personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, gowns, etc)
  • Pay Rate –  $40 per hr
